The MVHS Secular Student Alliance (SSA) was created to provide a place for atheists, agnostics, humanists and secularists to discuss topics openly and freely concerning faith, politics and anything else with like-minded people. Club activities are not limited to those without faith and differing viewpoints are encouraged as long as they are promoted civilly and professionally.
SSA also gives back to the community through service projects and fundraising.

What is secularism? How do I know if I’m a secularist?
1. Religious skepticism or indifference.
2. The view that religious considerations should be excluded from civil affairs or public education. If you believe that faith, politics, and education should be kept separate you are indeed a secularist. Secularists are keen to preserve this separation (also referred to as the Separation of Church and State). Many people are secularists and didn’t even know it so if discussion of faith and it’s role in this world intrigues you, stop by to listen in or add your own voice to the conversation. We can’t stress enough how welcoming we want this organization to be.
